During NBA All-Star Weekend 2026, MKE Fellows participated in a multi-day experience designed to merge leadership development, professional exposure, and service. The week began Thursday with the Time Pitch Competition, where Fellows refined their ability to communicate vision and innovation under pressure. Friday followed with the Crossover experience and professional development, capped by attendance at the NBA Classic Games, immersing Fellows from Hampton University and North Carolina A&T University in spaces that blended culture, career access, and high-level networking.

On Saturday, Fellows supported the NBA Legends Basketball event, building meaningful connections while also assisting with the health screening and putting their academic training into action. Attendees were welcomed by a Finance major, and a Kinesiology student supported blood pressure monitoring, while an Engineering student assisted with medical equipment operations. The impact of this experience reflects the purpose of MKE Fellows to intentionally place students in environments where exposure meets responsibility. By combining access, service, and hands-on application, Fellows gain confidence, expanded their networks, and saw firsthand how their education translates into leadership, opportunity, and real-world impact.
