The credentials are quite amazing for someone who is still considered a teenager. Then to be nationally recognized by a highly selective scholarship for outstanding High School seniors is beyond noteworthy.

Each year, the Gates Scholarship is awarded to exceptional student leaders, with the intent of helping them realize their maximum potential. Scholars receive funding for the full cost of attendance, that is not already covered by other financial aid and the Student Aid Index, including tuition, fees, books, housing and food. Ideal candidates have outstanding academic records in High School, demonstrate leadership abilities through participation in community service, extracurricular, or other activities, and have exceptional personal success skills. Annually, over 34,000 students apply and only 300 students are awarded.

For this year's applicants, MKE Fellow, Nicholas Parchia is a proud awardee. This fall, Parchia will study Computer Science at Concordia University Chicago.
