At Nicolet, students were treated to a special catered lunch in the Community Resource Room, creating an atmosphere of excitement and celebration. As they lined up to make their plates, the session turned into an interactive learning experience focused on innovation and history.
Students explored notable inventions and the remarkable individuals behind them, including Garrett Morgan, Madam C. J. Walker, George Washington Carver, Benjamin Banneker, and Charles Drew. The students were engaged and often surprised by the many contributions these inventors made, sparking curiosity and meaningful discussion.
The conversation then shifted to college selection. Students shared insights on factors influencing their decisions, such as the benefits of large versus smaller schools, academic majors, costs, and proximity to home. This dialogue provided practical guidance while encouraging students to think critically about their own priorities and goals.
