50 years ago on July 20, 1976, Henry “Hammerin’ Hank” Aaron hit his final home run, number 755, of his career, capping a record that would stand for 31 years. In honor of this legend, July 20, 2026 marked the celebration of unveiling a new mural at the Clinton Rose Senior Center.
Through all of Aaron’s accomplishments on the field, he valued finding ways to encourage kids to dream and provide them with a helping hand. In 2011 Aaron shared “…the greatest thing that I feel that the contribution I’ve made since I’ve been out of baseball was to helping 755 in my foundation.” The Hank Aaron Chasing the Dream Foundation was founded by Henry and his wife, Billye, in 1995 to promote youth development through grants, scholarships and financial assistance.
Just as Hank Aaron’s legacy lives on, his influence through his foundation continues to create change as youth continue to dream. This year’s endowment for the MKE Fellows will aid in advancing our mission and shaping a brighter future for talented individuals.
