The MKE Fellows made a historic return to this year’s 30 for 30: Shadow A CEO, presented by Coach Sidney Moncrief. This year’s Pitch and Pizza competition focused on networking through impactful elevator pitches. First, students were taught proper posture and body language when greeting others. Maintaining good eye contact, keeping one’s hands visible, and finding commonality were initial key points. Phase two expressed the value of active listening while networking. Repeating a person’s name during the conversation can help etch someone’s name in your memory. Wisconsin based CEOs engaged in conversations with the scholars and provided tips for improvement. Phase three applied the knowledge from the day’s session as students competed against one another in one-minute pitch contests. MKE Fellows, Robert Baker and Ian Harris, were proud to win 2nd and 3rd place, respectively.
