The 2025 MKE Fellows Holiday Luncheon served as a brilliant conclusion to a landmark year, transforming the Medical College of Wisconsin Alumni facility into a beacon of hope and professional excellence. The atmosphere was instantly set as a barrage of Fellows entered the room, their presence creating a serene yet powerful energy that illuminated the venue. Guests were greeted by the vibrant smiles of young leaders whose academic and professional journeys represent the program's core pillars of scholarship and civic engagement, setting a tone of collective pride and celebration.
The program featured an impressive lineup of Milwaukee’s most influential voices, each offering a unique perspective on the program's success. WEC Energy Group Executive Chairman Gale Klappa and philanthropist Sue Ela were recognized for their visionary support, while Greg Wesley, President and CEO of the Greater Milwaukee Foundation, and legal leader Ave Bie shared poignant reflections on the importance of local mentorship. Their remarks highlighted the "bright fire" of the current cohort, emphasizing that the mission of the MKE Fellows—to build a robust pipeline of talent—is seeing tangible results in the halls of major Wisconsin corporations.
As the luncheon reached its peak, Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley took the stage to issue a stirring challenge to the audience. He urged community leaders and partners to not only celebrate current successes but to "double the support" for the next generation, ensuring that every Fellow has the resources to overcome systemic barriers. His words resonated deeply, leaving the room energized and renewed in their commitment. Attendees departed with a shared sense of purpose, carrying the momentum of the silver anniversary year into a future defined by expanded horizons and unwavering community partnership.
