Banking On Green: Where Life Skills Meet the Game

The African Center for Community Development, Inc. is dedicated to creating a vibrant and inclusive community in Madison and Dane County for African immigrants and refugees. They foster an engaged and thriving African community by promoting cross-cultural understanding, social and economic integration, and civic participation, all while providing invaluable resources to empower individuals, families, and businesses to thrive in Madison and Dane County. 

In partnership with Associated Bank, the MKE Fellows was excited to present creative activities as hands-on learning tools through the innovation of "Banking On Green." By linking the mechanics of golf putting to the decision-making of life, students from the African Center for Community Development, Inc. and  Madison East High School traveled from Madison to Milwaukee, and made the lessons of professional development "stick."

The 6 interactive sessions of The Green & The Grit, The Power of the Launch, The Sartorial Strategy, Digital Identity, The Foyer Ascent and The Economic Gateway gave new perspectives on the sand traps of life, the power of alignment, preparing for your next level, personal branding on LinkedIn, compelling storytelling and leveraging financial assets.
