This summer, MKE Fellows is proud to partner with a group of accomplished Morehead-Cain Scholars through an immersive eight-week community engagement experience centered on learning, collaboration, and impact.
Throughout the program, scholar teams work closely with host organizations to better understand real community challenges by engaging directly with local leaders, community members, and organizations. From attending meetings and conducting interviews to observing how systems within a city connect and operate, scholars gain valuable insight into the social, economic, educational, and cultural factors that shape communities.
As part of their partnership with MKE Fellows, scholars will work alongside staff and students while developing projects and deliverables designed to support and strengthen the organization’s ongoing mission and impact. The experience not only deepens their understanding of community leadership and service, but also allows them to see firsthand how collaboration, mentorship, and intentional investment can create meaningful change.
Through this opportunity, scholars leave with more than professional experience—they gain a broader perspective on leadership, civic engagement, and the power of building relationships that positively impact communities for generations to come.
