MKE Fellow Braylen Stevens 'MBRACES' his Entrepreneurial Spirit
Being different and not trying to fit in with the “cool” crowd was exactly the inspiration Braylen Stevens, a 19-year-old sophomore at DePaul University and first-year MKE Fellow, needed to "MBRACE" his entrepreneurial spirit.
While growing up in Milwaukee Braylen struggled with being accepted by his peers because of his interest in the performing arts instead of athletics. It wasn’t until his later years of high school in which he really started to hone his talents. Braylen started 'MBRACING' his culture, himself, his talents, and what he truly loved because he realized what made him “different” is what made him great!
Stevens said, "In the summer of 2017, I was thinking: 'What can I do, how can I serve my community and others, and what impact can I make? That's how MBRACED Culture came about. From there it was about doing the research to find out what the community needed." On June 24th, 2018, Braylen Stevens officially launched MBRACED Culture and hopes to inspire others and enforce positivity and belief in one’s self, abilities, thoughts, and goals. Braylen stated, “MBRACED Culture was created to let people from ALL walks of life know that something isn’t important to others until it is important and MBRACED by yourself.”
We couldn't be more proud of MKE Fellow, Braylen Stevens. Continue to inspire others to MBRACE what makes them different and unique! We salute his call to community and empowerment to others.
