Renowned Artist Rashid Johnson meets the Fellows!

World-renowned artist, Chicago-native, sculptor, and soon-to-be film director Rashid Johnson gave our MKE Fellows and Mentors a guided tour exploring the meaning and message behind his body of work being exhibited at the Milwaukee Art Museum. “Hail We Now Sing Joy” derived from one of the artist’s favorite Jazz bands is the museum’s first young artist to solo exhibit there, and we were able to experience it before it was open to the public & Museum sponsors thanks to our friend Sande Robinson and the African American Art Alliance sponsored by the Milwaukee Art Museum.
